 Born in Russia, Poli began singing, playing piano and performing at an early age. After early studies at Classical School in Russia, she continued her training in jazz and composition at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, in Israel, where she was blessed to study with legendary jazz musician Slava Ganelin. After relocating to New York in October 2001, Poli studied acting and screenwriting at the Lee Strasberg Institute with Chad Burton and performed in Indie movies and New York theaters. Poli formed her band "The Desires", and played many shows in top NY clubs and at festivals around the US. Poli was also a producer for "The Desires" first album in 2004 with Beauty Rock Records. In Spring 2007, Poli relocated to Los Angeles, to further her solo career. Her new solo album "Brand-New Way" presents her talents as singer, pianist, songwriter and arranger. Poli is fluent in four languages, and is an experienced dancer in hip-hop, latin, modern, and belly-dance forms. Poli is currently performing in the Los Angeles, San Diego and Las Vegas areas, promoting her new solo album. Awards and Publications CD release - January 2009. A Jazz-Pop Solo Album - voice & piano - produced by legendary Mark S. Berry. (Mark has been awarded 36 gold and platinum records.) CD in stores in USA and Canada (Universal Music distribution), Korea, China and Japan. Music from "Brand-New Way" album will be on MTV in 2009 & in Film & TV in Greece and Cyprus. Poli starts promoting her new solo album: shows in USA and international. January 2009, Poli became the First Place Winner in the Avant-Garde Category (Jazz Singing) in the USA International Competition in Las Vegas, USA. 2008-2009 Poli received an invitation to become a member of WHO IS WHO. Poli's song is a FINALIST in the monthly international contest "Song of the year" (TOP 5, 3rd place) - November 10th, 2007 You (Blues) - TOP 20 FINALIST, Blues Category, UNISONG: 11th Annual International Songwriting Contest. Additionally, The Letter without Words (Funk) and You'll Never Know (Jazz) were awarded honorable mentions in the Jazz category. Thinking of You at Sunset and Imagination (Film/TV instrumental) - Runners Up, January 2007 Song of the Year. Dreaming (Instrumental) and I Have the Blues (Blues) - Suggested Artist, December 2006 Song of the Year. Just for You (soundtrack) is heard in the movie Titillating Steven (Gemelli Productions, Hollywood). Poli's lyrics were featured in Downtown LA magazine, April 2007.
