Ava Fleming brings a truly unique and modern approach to Raqs Sharki. She is an elegant example of today's classic modern belly dancer. Performing to international audiences worldwide, Ava has danced in prestigious theaters such as the Hollywood Ford Amphitheater (CA), Barnsdall Theater (CA), Phoenix's Orpheum and Herbeger Theaters, and Scottsdale Center for the Arts (AZ).
She has also danced at many international festivals in locations such as Germany, Belgium and England (London, Glastonbury, Leistershire). In 2004 she won the esteemed Bellydancer of the Universe title (Egyptian category), Champion, People's Choice and Miss Congeniality.
With close to 15 years of experience, her knowledge of cultural dances includes Khaleegi, Raks Assaya, Baabaa Karam, Debke, Melaya Luff and Raks Sharqi. In addition to that, Ava's experiences include Greek, Lebanese, Armeinian, Egyptian and Turkish music. Although Ava is featured on many performance and instructional DVDs, her true passion lays in performing with live music. She has had the honor to dance with musicians such a Karim Nagi, Shouhail Kaspar, Chris Spheeris, Gabby Tawal and many others.
Ava can provide a standard Cabaret Belly dance Show. Her prop use can include: Veil, Double Veil, Sword, Double Sword, Cane, Double Cane, Zills, Shammadan, and Palm Flames.
