Born in the city of Porto, Portugal, he has been involved in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Martial Arts, Latin American, Flamenco, Tango Argentino, Mambo/Salsa and Ballroom dancing for more than 17 years. In Portugal competed in various amateur championships achieving first place in many competitions. He was the technical director of the Academia de Dança Pedro Sousa’ and performed in many major stages and venues through the country.

Came to Leeds, England to continue his academic studies at the NSCD (Northern School of Contemporary Dance) where amongst other academic disciplines he studied Ballet, Jazz and Contemporary dance. He graduated from NSCD in July 2002.

Since then he has been performing and/or teaching for organizations such as: Paul Killick’s (Latin World Champion) Dancesport, Danceworks, The Peak Healthclub, Topnotch Health Club, Brixton Recreation Centre, Leeds Universities, Pat Thompson (Ballroom Champion), Tanya Cusan Dance Company, Harrogate Festival, York University, Phoenix Dance Theatre, Virgin Active, Yorkshire Dance, etc.

Went on to achieve Highly Commended Associate Professional Qualifications in Ballroom and Latin Dances from the UKA and the ISTD in 2003 and 2004.

In September 2003 he was a professional finalist in the Tropicana Salsa World Dance Championships 2003’ held in London and in 2005 he became a semi-finalist at the English Professional Latin Championships.

In July 2005 he moved to London where he worked with some of the higher exponents in Dancing such as Paul Killick (Latin World Champion) and frequented an MSc Dance Science- Post Graduate at Laban’, in London City University.

Director of Servigroup Dance Academy in Spain from November 2006 to December 2008.

From June 2008 started performing his own dance productions for Benishow’ and La Tahina; agencies, in Benidorm and Alicante respectively.

From January 2009 he becomes a teacher and performer for Elegance Studios in Alicante.

Melania Lorenzo

Born in the city of Alicante, Spain, she has been doing and performing in Gymnastics, Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Latin American, Flamenco, Argentine Tango, Mambo/Salsa and Ballroom dancing for more than 13 years.

She won many first places in her competitive career and in 2009 along with her dance partner she becomes the first placed dancer in the Spanish ranking.

She first started dancing in 1995, doing the Spanish dance of Sevillanas.

From 1998 until 2001 she did Ballet; Jazz and Spanish dancing with Pilar Ocaña. From 2002 until 2005 she had classes in Club Atlético Montemar’ in: Latin dances: Merengue, Salsa, Bachata and Cha Cha; Hip Hop, Street Jazz and Ballet.

From 2006 she started doing Ballroom dance sport classes in Latin and standard with Sergey Nifontov.

Since 2008 she has been performing and/or teaching for organizations such as: Magic Costa Blanca; with Poty, the TV choreographer of the Spanish version of Strictly Come Dancing’, Servigroup, Benishow, La Tahina and Elegance Productions.
