Education/Training:
Shawnee Mission South High School- Overland Park, KS-Graduated 2012 with a GPA over 4.0. Other highlights include Gifted student program, Project Lead the Way (engineering program), and many honors/AP courses. Also attended Johnson County Community College while in high school-Psychology, physics, and English
University of Colorado School of Engineering-Boulder, CO - Gave it the old college try (2012-13) and completed one year. Chemical engineering turned out not to be my passion; instead, I am pursuing my dream to work with movement as art.
200 Hr RYT: Certified Yoga Teacher (Yoga Alliance)-Boulder, CO-Yoga teacher training at
Radiance Power Yoga in 2013. Our training included several styles of yoga, history, philosophy and ethics, energy centers, anatomy, physiology, asana (biomechanics, alignment, modifications, & assisting), diet, lifestyle, communication and presentation skills, meditation, Pranayama, and business of yoga. I have been practicing yoga daily for 6 years and have been certified and teaching since 2013.
Separately, I also completed a week long Solar AcroYoga Immersion in Miami, Florida, which focused on advanced partner acrobatics.
Quixotic School of Performing Arts- Kansas City, MO - Completely immersed in aerial and dance, 20+hrs weekly. Training included contortion, ballet, lyra, trapeze, tissue (silks), conditioning, and contemporary dance. Entered the school in Sept 2014. By February 2015 they had me teaching and performing with their professional company (see below). When their school shut down in May 2015, I didn't have enough work with the company and decided to go to professional aerial dance school.
Frequent Flyer Productions (aerial dance) Professional Training Program, Boulder, CO - For 7
months I averaged 30 hours per week of training in professional aerial dance. Trapeze (dance and static), fabric, lyra, corde, stilts, rope and harness, bungee, partnering, improvisation, choreography, performance, Skinner releasing Technique, invented apparatus, Pilates, ballet, and modern dance. Also training in nutrition, kinesiology, rigging, marketing, costuming/make-up, and media editing.
